Disable DDL

so I have been working in oracle for a long time and did not know that it is possible to disable DDL in all tables, but keep it open for INS/UPD/DEL. Came across this command:

ALTER TABLE TABLE_NAME DISABLE TABLE LOCK; Has anyone used this command in their env? Does it come with any caution note
