We are running Oracle EBS on 11.2.0.4. We will be upgrading the database to 19C and converting it to a PDB which is a requirement for EBS on 19C.

My question is, do we need to backup the entire database following the 19C upgrade and conversion to PDB or in the event of post upgrade failure (upgrade is done and turned over to the users when something happens hours later), could we restore the RMAN backup from before the upgrade and roll the archive logs forward through the upgrade and PDB conversion to a particular log sequence number?
