We are in the process of upgrading some 11.2.0.4 databases to 19c.  During our backup and recovery testing we hit bug 30549637. The initial report of this bug and the fix are recent.  It results in an ORA-600
[kcnibrupdate] error when performing media recovery and prevents you
from recovering your database.  We have reproduced the error in both RMAN and when attempting media recovery via SQL*Plus.

SQL> RECOVER DATABASE UNTIL CANCEL;
ORA-00283: recovery session canceled due to errors ORA-00600: internal error code, arguments: [kcnibrUpdate], [0], [1], [],
[],[], [], [], [], [], [], []

The bug impacts both 18c and 19c databases that ran 11g in the past.  A patch exists for 18c, but we are waiting on the 19c fix (Sev 1 SR opened earlier this week).  Please be sure to test your recovery scenarios, especially for those databases that once ran 11g and have been upgraded to 18c/19c.

UPDATE:  I just checked MOS and now see a 19c patch (Linux x86-64) for this bug.  I will touch base with the tech assigned to our SR and send an update after our testing.

Mike
