As a follow up to my previous question I’m trying to determine whether the original Gateway/HS install is for ODBC or for SQL Server. Neither I nor other people have had any luck in figuring out what to check and the person who originally set it up is no longer available.

As you can probably tell I don’t have much experience with HS so any help with this is appreciated!

Hi Jay,

I don't see big value in oracle events for your issue. Do you consider setting
HS_FDS_TRACE_LEVEL=DEBUG
on your gateway to see more details?

please share your findings,
 Martin

It has connected through a separate Windows 2008 Oracle 11.2.0.1 Gateway server for many years with no issues.

We set up a new 12.2.0.1 Oracle Gateway server on Windows 2012 to test but all queries run very slowly and then start hanging. We’re opening a SR but thought I’d ask if anyone here has seen something similar.

On the database side the session shows it’s waiting on HS message to agent.

Could it be an issue with the Gateway being 12.2 and the database being 12.1? I tried to find the certification matrix but metalink said:

The certification matrix for the 11.1, 11.2 and 12c Gateways is now available on OTN from the following URL - http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/database/gateways/index.html<https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=http-3A__www.oracle.com_technetwork_database_gateways_index.html&d=DwMFaQ&c=nulvIAQnC0yOOjC0e0NVa8TOcyq9jNhjZ156R-JJU10&r=aiKV3Uv2Wo7GqYQcis9TSvB1MZslPOnintrOY1rjG58&m=vfYH-1qqPEXXL9-SukSOXm7JEkhmOf18l0mC7MAr0Ik&s=DQn52BBBK8Fh0mRfb_p36YiN2M5P9I5yOkzr4z8UwtE&e=> and that gives an error “We can’t find the page you were looking for”

Any advice appreciated.
