I wouldn’t say 12.2 is junk. But the patching process has taken several steps backward. Almost to the bad old days when it was basically a crapshoot.

I have been patching Oracle 11g for years and now I have all sorts of problems with Oracle 12.2 and Oracle 18.8? Do we really need a patching utility that causes unnecessary problems? I rolled back the patches and will not apply any more patches to 12.2 until Oracle comes up with the sure fire way to fix the "datapatch" problems and repopulate the tables from "lsinventory".
