Re: Linux (is Oracle returning to proven winning way?)

I’m going to throw my 2c in here- I also hope for the return of Oracle and I agree, the list that Jared started, although short, is very, very promising. What caused this was not the vision from the top, but losses that created a panic to push for changes that many refused to consider before, even though they had been proposed. Oracle is fantastic technology, but to really succeed takes vision. When I went to Microsoft, that was the by far the biggest selling point- the vision of Satya Nadella that seemed to permeate every part of the company. Larry once had this vision and especially with the recent losses, it is a crucial time for, (IMHO) for Larry to step aside for someone with a new vision to step in. I see the recent changes as promising and I’m looking forward to what will come. I have to stress though, to consistently look to Larry to bring the future of Oracle is asking for the slow death of the company. From my view of recent years, his time and vision is over, let the man go enjoy his island.
