Mark: If it fits the requirement, it's probably the correct solution. :) I had a play with the Elastic Load Balancer stuff years ago and it seemed OK. No idea what it's like now. :)
Someone, who shall remain nameless (Jeff Smith), asked me if I would write up something about what we do here. Here is the first draft of it.
