No need to apologise. Your point was well made and worth adding to the mix. We sometimes get into this bubble where we think of everything as servers we have full control off and can do whatever we want, where increasingly that's not the case, or the level of control is reduced. It's good to check ourselves every once in a while as think, "Is this still relevant?"
