Niall, I think you meant having ASM disk groups stored on *NFS* here.

IIRC it's supported from 12.2 onwards and previously could be achieved by setting (in an unsupported way) by setting an undocumented parameter. It needed _asm_allow_only_raw_disks=false I think.
