Just had a big think about this. I have a dataguard primary with Apex and standby with Apex on. The standby apex stuff works fine when I switch over. With the exception of some of the connection info needing to be updated in an xml file. As Dataguard replicates the database across two boxes - as you can with Datapump then it sounds likely that datapump would work.
