Hi Andrew

Not that I want to go into infight with you but standby databases functionality has been working since version 7.x of the Oracle database in all Editions.

The automation came later and if you want all the whistles and bells you need Enterprise Edition (EE) and or the database option Active Data Guard.

To move a database from one machine to another with the same indian format and minimising downtime via standby functionality do not require EE or Active Data Guard.
