I think step one would be to validate the backup set on the source host. If clean then check the following Oracle support notes to see if any are close. There seems to be an issue with small compressed backup set pieces.

ORA-19612 Oerror Trying To Duplicate Database With Rman (Doc ID 1361914.1) Bug 10182005 - ORA-600 [krbrrd_krbrddo_fails] or ORA-19599 Small compressed backups fail to restore (Doc ID 10182005.8) RMAN Merge Recovery Failed to read backuppiece ORA-19566 (Doc ID 1933629.1)

Can you post the actual rman commands used to perform the restore?

First I hit bug solved via DISABLE_OOB=on in sqlnet.ora . Then

Got SR but no progress there .
Maybe anyone hit something similiar ?
My to check list:

  • deep packet inspection
  • source DB corruption (but rman backup validate reports no errors).
