re. ERWin... I discovered 5+ years ago some people are using it to create triggers which make it possible for child table to modify their parent tables' values... I thought that ran counter to the whole rdbms philosophy. Oh well.

re. SQL Data Modeler... I guess that means the idea of generating Oracle Forms apps went out the window. Peter Koletske and others wrote books on how to use Designer for that purpose.​ I understand that Java+ADF is more trendy now though. Probably ensuring that everything is coordinated properly over time to maintain that forward-engineering of Forms was too difficult for bureaucracies to sustain.
