The government of Canada employees were told only Java and dot NET will be hosted by the Shared Services clouds. I recommend staying away from open source fads or things developed by grad students, or developed in-house using random technologies with no long-term support. Some open source technologies are okay if they are used everywhere and have solid support behind them but if a tech may not be popular in 5 years, I would avoid it.
