You should create a RAC client for every RAC database, if you want to utilize the backup fail-over capability. I haven't seen your configuration and cannot be more specific.

This can mean many things. I can't be more specific since I haven't seen your configuration. You should open a support case, they will help you out with a configuration and lead you through the ticket.

Commvault is a complex beast. There is not enough information to even begin diagnosing the session. For starters, is it Commvault 11 or Simpana 10? Does your company have any advanced PS days left? Commvault can send someone like me to help you.
