The Automatic Data Optimization option comes with EE however it requires the Advanced Compress Option which is extra-cost to be used so if you have Advanced Compression there is no extra charge, but if you don't have Advanced Compression you either have to buy it or not use the feature.

I found it- Automatic Data Optimization with Heat Maps. Anybody know if this is a extra cost option ? http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/database/automatic-data-optimization-wp-12c-1896120.pdf

I thought there was a new feature in 12c ASM that allowed the auto migration of objects from faster storage to slower storage. But I am drawing a blank on the name of the feature and endless searching is getting me nowhere.

Say you have a small amount of SSD, and a large amount of fast SAN. I though inside Oracle ASM or db you could set up QoS rules or something similar to move data around. Many SAN vendors have this feature, and I think Exadata specifically has it, but I was looking for something in ASM itself that could be done in RAC or standalone db's.

I am puzzled :(
