This sounds familiar: http://www.oraclealchemist.com/news/replication-ace-comic/

I've enjoyed the use of DBVisit. For Oracle to Oracle it has been exceptionally easy to use, has a variety of methods for getting data replicated over (on any Oracle edition), and is a great middle ground between Streams and GG (leaning further towards GG in terms of ability and stability). Just my $0.02.

We don't use GG due to cost. It's unfortunate Oracle doesn't license GG for temporary use. It's the perfect product for temporary licensing (such as 30 or 60 days).
