Separate network interfaces are a requirement, not a preference. It sounds like the 12c installer may have changed, but the requirement itself is nothing new.

From what I can tell your options are to spend time trying to get your configuration as it is to work, or add a new interface to each node.

If you're getting push back, you can reference the following documentation link, which clearly states that each node must have at least two network adapters:
