Oracle JavaVM patches

In reading the instructions on applying these (latest one is 22674687) to 11.2.0.4 Oracle RAC environment, it appears I have to shutdown the database to apply. I'm hoping someone on this list will tell me I just read it wrong! Is there a way to apply the JavaVM patches one node at a time without shutting down the database? Thanks!-ck
