All -

I am new to Apex. I have Apex 5.0 running on Oracle 12.1 on Linux.

I am attempting to create a PDF report based on a database view, as a test it has 3 rows of data. I have attempted several different ways but all end with the same error - unable to render. I set the 'Report Printing' in the 'Instance Settings' panel, 'Print Server' to 'ORDS' - saved it. I then installed ORDS into the database - Oracle REST Data Services. This is not even generating a default pdf. I also have Altova StyleVision installed and I am designing a custom PDF. I created a basic PDF and imported the layout to Apex and assigned it to the report layout attribute. Same error. I am missing something! I can't see it or find it. I then try to 'Print' the report to an Excel sheet and I get the XML of the data on the page. So the connection is not being made to the print server, is my guess.

I have been googling and following - http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/apex/learnmore/custom-pdf-reports-1953918.pdf

Does anyone have docs that show me what I am missing?? Or is there an Apex expert willing to help me?

LeRoy
