For me, it is to get access to MyOracleSupport documents, unassociated with any customer support identifiers, as I have no personal interest in patches or upgrades.

$55.00/yr or $0.15/day is well worth being able to look things up on MOS irrespective of whose support identifier I am included within.

But $2.38/yr was even better. Que sera sera...
