Thats right -- something wrong with e-bus java.. I tried same command with OS version of java and it succeeded:

/usr/bin/java -server -verbose:gc -Xmx2048M -Xms2048M -XX:MaxPermSize=1024M -version
java version "1.6.0_36"
OpenJDK Runtime Environment (IcedTea6 1.13.8) (rhel-1.13.8.1.el6_7-x86_64) OpenJDK 64-Bit Server VM (build 23.25-b01, mixed mode)

I have logged case with oracle

Thanks,
Sanjeev.
