i attended Tanel Poder's Advanced SQL Tuning online seminar round about 5 years ago and it was worth every cent.

I am not quite sure, if he still does these trainings after he started Gluent, but he just re-developed another seminar and you still can register here: http://blog.tanelpoder.com/seminar/

Otherwise Method-R, Cary Millsap is the spot to go for methodology and performance tuning in class. He hopefully changes your way of thinking about performance (or at least his book Optimizing Oracle Performance does it for me several years ago).
