AH, I see, it was DB12.1.0.2 was not supported as a target with EM12.1.0.3. J

Sorry, I hadn’t picked up that nuance.  DB12.1.0.2 is of course certified with EM12.1.0.5, which is what I thought was being discussed.

Highest release of the DB.   EM 12.1.0.3 was never certified to support/manage 12.1.0.2 DB (due to release times).  So officially you need 12.1.0.4 or higher.    Not that it won’t work, but it’s not the officially supported combination, and some features may not be available (provisioning of 12.1.0.2 for example)

Sorry, highest release of WHAT exactly?  The only thing I can think of is you mean DB12.1.0.1, but DB12.1.0.2 can be managed as a target as well.

We are upgrading from 12.1.0.3. According to certify, the highest release our current version can monitor is 12.1.0.1. That's why we want to upgrade.

>>> Courtney Llamas <HYPERLINK "mailto:courtney.llamas_at_oracle.com"courtney.llamas_at_oracle.com> 8/13/15 1:30 PM >>>

Are you upgrading from EM from 12.1.0.3 to 12.1.0.5?   Or from EM 11g?

12.1.0.3 can support 12c databases as targets.   It’s just not supported as the repository version until 12.1.0.4 and up.    There are also some good enhancements and fixes in 12.1.0.4/5 releases.   One system upgrade is the only option from 12.x to 12.x upgrades.  2-system upgrade is only available for 10g/11g -> 12c.

I can help answer questions and guide you in the right direction…

How big is your repository currently?  How many targets?

You can download the repvfy toolkit from MOS, and run:

repvfy verify upgrade –level 9

Which will look for known issues that should be resolved before upgrading.

We are planning our upgrade of Enterprise Manager so that we will have support for 12C databases. Has anyone encountered problems performing the upgrade and would be willing to share what you learned. I am considering doing the one step upgrade.
