I am playing with pluggable databases in Oracle 12c. At this point, I have created the container database and a pluggable database and that works fine. The one big question that I have is:

Is there a way to not install everything that catcdb.sql installs? We normally only install the following:

SQL> select comp_name, version, status from dba_registry;

COMP_NAME

---

VERSION                        STATUS
------------------------------ -----------
Oracle XML Database
12.1.0.2.0                     VALID

Oracle Database Catalog Views
12.1.0.2.0                     VALID

Oracle Database Packages and Types
12.1.0.2.0                     VALID

SQL> We don't need Java, Spatial, Apex, and all the other things that catcdb.sql installs. It's bad enough that it installs all of that in the container, but then it copies it all to the pluggable database as well. For us, that's just a lot of noise that we just don't use or need.
