Automatically promote a target?

We are setting up automatic deployment scripts for oracle software, to be run after the vm is started. We install the agent after the db is created and started. Now we are trying to figure out if there is any way to automatically discover and promote the new installation, rather than going into cloud control and manually promoting the discovered targets. Any ideas?
