You may use the *free* transparent gateway for ODBC. It is free and it can be installed on a separate server -at least on 11.2- so you don't need a ODBC driver for AIX, but it has some limitations (no parallelism, no distributed transactions, no support, ...). It works with oracle database 10.2, too. I don't know what's new in 12c. Bye
