Dear oracle-l'ers,

after running into a classic ORA-600 [17114] and reading the corresponding MOS Doc ID 47411.1, I stumbled upon the term "magic number":

Quote:

Oracle has detected that the magic number in a memory chunk header has   been overwritten.

I know this term from other contexts (often meaning hash or salt values and the like), but does anybody here know what this particular magic number is about?
Cheers,
Uwe
