Any idea when Replicate will support 12c as a source?

We’d need 12c as a source. Unless maybe their website is outdated?

Matt,

I would suggest taking a serious look at Dbvisit. These guys and the products are solid and significantly cheaper. http://www.dbvisit.com/products/dbvisit_replicate_real_time_oracle_database_replication/

I do not have access to a 12c instance yet, but it seems from the documentation that Oracle Change Data Capture is not delivered as part of 12c. I mean: not merely deprecated, but gone.

Is that true? If so, what are your thoughts on replacing that functionality? GoldenGate is not an option due to the price, and Streams is either gone or deprecated in 12c, so we don’t want to go there even if we could.

I am thinking something along the lines of database triggers to enqueue messages to an Advanced Queue (AQ), and then use AQ functionality to implement the publish-subscribe model that CDC had.

But “solutions” involving database triggers always seem amateurish to me (maybe wrongly). So, I’m asking the group for better ideas.

Any thoughts?

Thanks in advance!

Matt
