Painfully Slow RMAN Restore - Again: Solved (Sort of)

As previously noted, we're on Oracle 11gR2 using EMC Networker for the Media Management layer. There's this Oracle Support Note (Doc ID 433335.1) that is titled "RMAN does not parallelize despite allocating >1 Channel". Sounds perfect doesn't it? Except it clearly states "APPLIES TO:Oracle Database - Enterprise Edition - Version 10.1.0.2 to 10.2.0.4 [Release 10.1 to 10.2]Information in this document applies to any platform.***Checked for relevance on 16-Apr-2014***"

Guess what? It also applies to 11.2.0.3 if you're using an older version of Networker. Threw the referenced parameter in out of desperation more than anything else and suddenly I've got multiple channels streaming with good data flow.
Might be useful info for someone sometime.
