Just to add that for 12c it would be:
  1. GI for a single server.
  2. Software only.
  3. Execute roothas.pl (see 6.4.2 Configuring the Software Binaries in the database install guide)
  4. Use netca to add a listener.
  5. Don't add an ASM instance if you don't need one :)

Note also that Oracle Restart is deprecated in Oracle Database 12c ( http://docs.oracle.com/database/121/UPGRD/deprecated.htm#UPGRD60149).
