I suspect this is an error for "max file size exceeded", meaning RMAN it trying to write a file larger than the filesystem will allow.  In older releases f Unix/Linux this was 2 GB (and some  newer systems may still be configured this way).  You may need to change your RMAN script to write smaller pieces.
