That would save the organizer fee of $19 per month ($15 per month if you pre-pay for 3 months and $12 per month if you pre-pay for 6 months). The problem is that one can only search by the location of the meetup group (Chicago in this case) not by the location of the event (e.g. Southern California). In other words, a meetup group is effectively limited to a single city. Iggy
