Alex,
You will need to upgrade the GI HOME before you can upgrade the RDBMS ORACLE_HOME. The Grid Infrastructure version must be the highest version down to the 4th digit at all times - you cannot have a 11.2.0.4 database inside a 11.2.0.2 Grid Infrastructure environment.

Reference : Oracle Clusterware (CRS/GI) - ASM - Database Version Compatibility (Doc ID 337737.1)

For the upgrade itself...these might help

OracleŽ Grid Infrastructure Installation Guide 11*g* Release 2 (11.2) for Linux

Complete checklist for out-of-place manual upgrade from previous 11.2.0.N version to the latest 11.2.0.N patchset. (Doc ID 1276368.1)
