No apologies, I actually followed that blog post a couple months ago and that is how I kind of have it set up. I think I will have to review it again, maybe I missed a step.

I hate doing a "self promo", so apologies in advance. ..:)

I have a number of blog posts recently that address this- http://dbakevlar.com

The "Stop the insanity" ones should help you out. ..

Good luck,

I have recently installed 12c EM and I am working on the alerts and I have noticed that I am getting 2 alerts when a database goes down. 1 for the target is down and another for the target is UNKOWN. Then I get a third when the target is up which I am ok with. The Unknown status is unnecessary in this case so I how do I prevent this alert? It looks like it is coming from the “Create incident for critical metric alerts” rule but I am not really sure what to change since that covers all target types. Should I just create a whole bunch of specific rules?

Setting up these alerts is what has been holding me back from moving completely over.

Thanks

Jeff
