12c Grid with 11g RDBMS

Hello all.. I'm working a new system design and wanted to use 12c RAC, but not all the applications which the database will support are compatible with 12c yet. So, I'm contemplating running 12c Grid Infrastructure with the 11g RDBMS. Just wondering if anyone has done this and if so, any gottchas I should be aware of..
