Hi Andrejs

You have to options depending on what features you need from the database :

  1. If you only need RAC and none of the Enterprise Edition features<http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E16655_01/license.121/e17614/editions.htm#DBLIC110> (EE) you can use a Oracle Standard Edition (SE). Since SE is licensed by CPU socket and not by core you will need a total of 4 Oracle Standard Edition licenses. This will cost you 17K $ before discount.
  2. if need Enterprise Edition features<http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E16655_01/license.121/e17614/editions.htm#DBLIC110> (EE) of the database and RAC option. You need to buy Oracle EE and RAC option and for your two server that comes to : 2 server * 2 Cpu * 8 Cores * Oracle core factor<http://www.oracle.com/us/corporate/contracts/processor-core-factor-table-070634.pdf> = # processor licenses. If we assume that the servers uses E5.2690 cpu'es (since they have 8 cores per CPU) the oracle core factor is 0,5. Now that calculation is 2 * 2 * 8 * 0,5 = 16 Oracle EE and 16 Oracle RAC option which from the US price list <http://www.oracle.com/us/corporate/pricing/technology-price-list-070617.pdf>will cost 1126K $ before discount.
