I believe O/S metrics follow the standard metric retention (12 doc extract) , so at sampling interval for 7 days,hourly aggregations for 31 days and daily aggregations for a year. These thresholds are user configurable.

Which tables the charts query against (i.e MGMT_METRIC_<DAILY|HOURLY|Raw> I haven't verified. YMMV for other EM versions.
