Nevermind I think. It appears DBA_TAB_COLUMNS has this info - I just didn't think it contained all the views but maybe it does. Chris

I thought there was a master view that listed all the V$ and GV$ columns but I can't seem to put my hands on it now.
Is there a way to generate this (specifically search for a column_name) on fixed v_$/gv_$ tables?
