In my experience one of our downstream extract from Oracle 11g to SQL SERVER, It was reported either job not finishing or time out.

We found SQL Server side connection driver not latest version, which was upgraded.

Network data transfer byte rate was increased.

Records to Commit rate was increased

With all changes on SQL SERVER our extract was fast.
