Just to throw another tool into the mix...

Oratop is a character-mode UNIX style "top" utility. It requires a Linux host and an Oracle client. It's a free download from My Oracle Support, and appears to just use a few v$ views like sysmetric, system event, session. See Doc ID 1500864.1.

I quite like it for those 2AM call-outs over a slow internet connection ;-)
