We implemented hugepages in production this weekend after running in dev and qa environments for over a month. Dev/QA environments do not have the connection load that production has. In all environments everything seemed okay till we went to production. We have 1 application that is having a problem and it is a JAVA process that spawns many dedicated, short lived, JDBC connection threads. One of the threads it spins off connects and exits quickly and is responsible for moving jobs from a queued to a running status.

Everything starts out fine at first and then it immediately begins to slow down how fast it is able to connect to the database going from a few ms to a few minutes.

I do have PRE_PAGE_SGA=TRUE (10.2.0.4 not 11g) and was curious if PRE_PAGE_SGA in 10g can cause slow connection issues like it can in 11g when using AMM in 11g? (We DISABLED ASMM in 10.2 when we went to hugepages even though we didn't have really have to but I wanted to)

Any other issues that jump to mind (from experience) I may be running into and should research?
