I am referencing:

Version 11g, so some parameters have been deprecated.

Not doing anything with standby control file, I get this upon mounting.

SYS AS SYSDBA _at_ radbdr> alter database mount standby database; alter database mount standby database
*
ERROR at line 1:
ORA-01103: database name 'RADB' in control file is not 'RADBDR'

Subject: standby on standard edition without rman

I have hit an air pocket with the steps in creating a standby old school. A bit embarrassing but I'm also under time preasure. I create the standby control file on the primary and bring it over... but what do I do with it then.

I have googled, but it must be so obvious that I'm missing it. Data Guard is not available in Standard Edition.
