We were thinking the same. There is a non-interactive mode that is worth considering.
bsu.sh -help
gives brief information.
If you go to docs.oracle.com and click the weblogic server link, then View Library for your version, in the get started section is the _ Smart Update Applying Patches to WebLogic Server_ link. Chapter 8 talks about the command line interface. The direct link is:

As I say I have not tried it, but hopefully it will be more efficient than using the GUI, and will allow the upgrade to be scripted.
