Indeed. Use of AS is restricted to aliasing column names, but not table names. Consistent?
Select dummy as fred
from dual as flintstone;
Will not work. It must be:
Select dummy as fred
from dual flintstone;
or drop the As altogether:
Select dummy fred
from dual flintstone;
