The day Postgres or MySQL comes with APEX and Locator (Spatial subset) is the day I'll promote it/them to my #1 choice of free RDBMS. ;-)

Until then, XE includes both, and that's impressive in itself. Libraries, VSE book keeping, home records ... and supported by DBVisit
