My wife is developing payment card soft and told a story he had with her customer (a bank) in one of former Soviet republics in Caucasus. Oracle administrator was a complete newbie, a few months before he worked as a cook. So they had quite a few funny conversations, but the best one was when the administrator wrote an e-mail "Sorry, cannot do anything now, database fell". So after a couple of hours they asked whether the DB was restarted. As a result it turned out that server physically had fallen down on the floor and they needed a day or so to replace physically broken parts. Gints
