I think it's talking about how the Oracle software handles _processing_ internally such as enqueues, latches, locks, interconnect traffic between nodes, asm block lookups, that sort of thing.

Subject: What is oracle internals ?!

I see the term "Oracle Internals" used in some of the Oracle-DBA job postings , not sure what they mean by that. I "guess", by internals they mean , knowledge of few more v$ tables , session trace & troubleshooting .

On the other hand, "Internal" really means , something internal to Oracle Corp that they need not disclose . Long ago, I was trying to learn more about SCN.. and a blog told SCN-generation is internal to Oracle and is not available to public (and should not be hacked or so).

Any ideas, when an Oracle DBA/Architect can say they know internals ?! :-)

Thanks
-Vasu
