FYI for anyone who else ...

 With EMC it looks kinda like this ...
/storage/diskgroup_name/disk1 points to /dev/emcpowerx
/storage/diskgroup_name/disk2 points to /dev/emcpowerz

When I create the disk groups I use the symbolic names ( /storage/diskgroup_name/disk1 ) to provide a level of indirection.

When I want to / need to I change where the symbolic links point to ...

I do not see how ASM functions with different LUN names.
