Flashback database is one of the great features Oracle has ever introduced. If you don't do lots of data purges (i.e. partition maintenance) or dropping and creating big tables, flashback impact is not really noticeable, even otherwise you only see flashback logs requiring more disk space.

Keep in mind that operations like block new for first insert into a block require that block to be read from disk for flashback and same thing goes when HWM for any object is extended by 5 blocks (i.e. all 5 new blocks need to be read from disk).
